Spring property taxes being mailed April 8; here’s how to pay

It’s almost time for Johnson County residents to begin paying their spring property tax bills.

Property tax statements are set to be mailed April 8, with spring tax installments due May 10. Because the Johnson County West Annex building will be closed on April 8 for the total solar eclipse, Johnson County Treasurer Michele Ann Graves is reminding residents that there are several safe and convenient options to pay property taxes that do not require an in-person visit to the treasurer’s office.

Those paying must have sufficient funds in their bank accounts. A $20 fee will be assessed for returned payments or insufficient funds, according to the office.

There are five other options for residents to pay property taxes without stopping at the treasurer’s office during office hours.
