Franklin’s Davis named an Indiana All-Star

Micah Davis would like to play professional basketball one day.

The last Johnson County boy to make the Indiana All-Star team is doing it, so why not?

Davis was one of 12 players named to this year’s squad of the state’s best players, which was revealed on Thursday. The Franklin senior is the first local chosen for the boys team since 2019, when Center Grove’s Trayce Jackson-Davis wound up earning Mr. Basketball honors.

Jackson-Davis is now in his rookie season with the NBA’s Golden State Warriors.

This past season, Davis led Franklin to a Class 4A sectional championship while ranking among the state’s top scorers at 25.1 points per game. The dynamic guard, who shot 53% from the field overall and 37% from 3-point range, also grabbed 5.7 rebounds a night while pacing the team with 4.3 assists and 1.8 steals.

Davis, who is set to play college ball at Eastern Kentucky next season, is joined on the Indiana All-Stars by Flory Bidunga of Kokomo, the presumed Mr. Basketball favorite, as well as Isaac Andrews of Wapahani, Jack Benter of Brownstown Central, Trey Buchanan of Westfield, Aaron Fine of Noblesville, Keenan Garner of Fishers, Evan Haywood of Brebeuf Jesuit, Jack Miller of Scottsburg, Tyler Parrish of Chesterton, Karson Rogers of Kokomo, Tucker Tornatta of Evansville Memorial and K.J. Windham of Ben Davis.
