Police arrest Indy murder suspect at Greenwood Park Mall

Indianapolis detectives arrested a man suspected of murder with the help of Greenwood Police.

Dewayne Randolph, 20, was arrested by detectives from Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department on Wednesday. He is suspected of being involved with the murder of Bryan Rosa in Indianapolis, according to IMPD.

At about 8:15 p.m. Monday, officers from IMPD’s Northwest District were dispatched to the 4500 block of Glenarm Drive on a report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they found Rosa with a gunshot wound. Indianapolis EMS transported Rosa to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Homicide detectives determined that the suspect and victim allegedly knew one another, identifying the suspect as Randolph. On Wednesday, IMPD’s Violent Crimes Unit, with the assistance of Greenwood Police Department, took Randolph into custody near the Greenwood Park Mall. IMPD Homicide detectives then arrested Randolph for the murder.

Police say the quick arrest was achieved through the “remarkable support of our community, the cooperation of witnesses and the relentless dedication of our detectives.” They also extended “heartfelt thanks” to their partners at Greenwood Police for their support and assistance.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will ultimately determine the charges for Randolph.
