Whiteland softball rolls past Greenwood

Revenge is indeed best served cold.

Three weeks after an early-season setback at Greenwood, Whiteland got some delayed payback with a 10-1 home rout of the Woodmen on Saturday morning.

The Warriors (8-7, 3-5 Mid-State) got three RBIs apiece from Kiley Sullivan and Maddy Myers, with Josslynn Harbert also knocking in a pair. Jordyn Crouch, Kaelyn Putnam and Sullivan shared the pitching duties, scattering just three hits over seven combined innings.

Lillian Disney brought home Kinsley Clark in the top of the second inning to put the Woodmen (9-5, 3-3) on the board first, but Whiteland answered back with four two-out runs in the third and four more in the fourth. Sullivan delivered a two-run single in the fourth inning, and she and Myers each knocked in another insurance run in the sixth.

Aubrey Felker joined Sullivan, Harbert and Myers in the two-hit club for the Warriors.
