IHSAA alignments unveiled

New sectional alignments for football, volleyball, soccer and basketball were announced by the IHSAA on Monday, and the changes were minimal due to a previously announced one-year enrollment freeze.

The lone shifts of significance involved schools moving up or down due to the tournament success factor, and the only changes impacting local teams came in football. Columbus East moved down out of Center Grove’s Class 6A sectional and replaces Seymour in a 5A sectional with Franklin, Whiteland and New Palestine. Reigning Class 3A state champion Bishop Chatard moves up to 4A and into the same sectional as fellow reigning champ Roncalli.

Greenwood Christian girls soccer will be in a realigned sectional with Bethesda Christian, Covenant Christian, International, Riverside and Speedway.
