Hill, Warriors blank Artesians

Debbie Hill pitched a three-hitter and doubled to bring in Jordan Smith with the game’s only run as Whiteland defeated Martinsville, 1-0, on Friday. The Warriors improve to 10-7 overall and 6-4 in the Mid-State Conference.

Trojans fall in extras

Center Grove suffered a 3-2 home loss to Tri-West in nine innings. Lex Warner drove in Ashlynn Wolff twice for the Trojans (15-5).

Braves win big on road

Mason Britt’s two home runs helped propel Indian Creek to an 11-2 win at South Putnam on Friday. Jackson Wang also went yard for the Braves (4-11, 2-3 WIC), while winning pitcher Justin Partyka (11 strikeouts) drove in a pair of runs.

Grizzly Cubs edge Panthers

Franklin scored three runs in the third to take the lead for good on the way to a 6-4 win over Bloomington South. Jace Fowler, Max Clark, Logen Devenport, Grant Roberts, Xavier Brown and Caleb Ross each had an RBI for the Grizzly Cubs (15-4).

Center Grove Ultimate closed with three straight scores to pull out a 9-7 home win over Scottsburg on Friday, running its record to a perfect 7-0 on the season. The Trojans host Fishers in their regular-season finale today.

Baseball falls to Hanover

Logan Demkovich hit a pair of solo home runs and Jacob Heuchan also went deep and had three RBIs, but Franklin College wound up on the losing end of a 9-6 score at Hanover on Friday. The Grizzlies (21-12) will play a road doubleheader against the Panthers today.
