<p><strong>To the editor:</strong></p>
<p>I always thought of Steve Bannon as Screwtape and Donald Trump as Wormwood — the former teaching the apprentice the finer points of the dark arts of populist politics.</p>
<p>Now that Screwtape has been banished from the kingdom, perhaps reasonable voices will have a greater influence on Wormwood as he continues to learn on the job.</p>
