Babies ‘R’ Us set to close on southside

A southside store that sells baby items is set to close, but what might replace it has yet to be determined.

Babies "R" Us, 8800 U.S. 31 South in Indianapolis, is one of about 180 Toys "R" Us and Babies "R" Us stores across the country set to close as a result of bankruptcy proceedings, the company said in a statement. A Toys "R" Us in the same shopping center will remain open.

About 12 of the stores being closed will be re-opened as combined Toys "R" Us and Babies "R" Us stores, but those locations have yet to be determined, the company said.
