Hilda Harmon, 100, of Pahoa, Hawaii, passed away March 11, 2018 at her daughter’s home.

Hilda was born on Nov. 14, 1917 to William and Opal (Cruise) McCarty of Bargersville, IN. She graduated from Center Grove High School in 1935. In 1938 she married the love of her life, Dudley Harmon, in Franklin, IN.

Hilda and Dudley were life-long residents of Johnson County until his passing in 2007, after 68 loving years together. In 2011, Hilda moved to Hawaii. Our "ohana" included 4 generations of women and 2 men.

Hilda was a mom and homemaker until the empty-nest left her with time and energy to lovingly assist residents at the Indiana Masonic Home’s Administrative Office for 14 years. Hilda loved to send greeting cards … She was surprised and delighted to receive over 100 cards for her 100th birthday.

Survivors include: daughter – Isla (Jan) Harmon, granddaughter – Lori Bothwell, grandchildren – Seth and Emma Haruzi of Hawaii, and grandson Jason (and Nici) Bothwell and great grandson Conner of Lacey, Washington. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Hilda’s parents, husband, brothers – Clarence and Donald McCarty, and sisters – Minnie Stone Moore and Mildred Crawford preceded her in death.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Franklin Eastern Star. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Grace United Methodist Church, 1300 East Adams, Franklin, IN 46131
