<p>The Johnson County Autism Support Group will host Camp Can Do, a camp for children with autism-spectrum disorders.</p>
<p>The eighth annual camp will be conducted the weeks of June 11, 18 and 25. Camp times are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at Whiteland Community High School. Cost is $150 per week.</p>

<p><p style="text-align: left"><strong>Annual youth essay contest announced</strong></p>
<p>High school and middle school students can write about the true meaning of Memorial Day and earn a cash prize.</p>
<p>Forest Lawn Community Outreach has opened its annual youth writing contest titled, “The True Meaning of Memorial Day.” The contest is open to all Greenwood middle- and high-school students.</p>
<p>Essay submissions are being received through today. Winning essays will be announced at the May 28 award ceremony taking place at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood.</p>
<p>A total of six prizes will be awarded.</p>

<p><p style="text-align: left"><strong>Representative opens art competition</strong></p>
<p>High school students are invited to submit their art for a Congressional contest.</p>
<p>U.S. Rep. Trey Hollingsworth invites all high school students who are residents of Indiana’s Ninth Congressional District to enter the 2018 Congressional Art Competition. The winner will have his or her artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol for the next year.</p>
<p>Students may submit their original, two-dimensional artwork to Hollingsworth’s district offices in Jeffersonville or Greenwood.</p>
<p>Local leaders and artists from across the district will judge the competition.</p>
<p>To be considered in the competition, students must hand-deliver or mail their entries along with typed student release forms to Hollingsworth’s offices no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday. This year’s artwork theme is “Traditions.”</p>
