National Merit finalists earn college aid

<p>Eight local high school graduates will get additional money to help pay for college.</p>
<p>This spring, 15 students from local schools were recognized as National Merit Scholarship program finalists, making them eligible for a variety of scholarships and other financial assistance for college.</p>
<p>Eight local students will receive college scholarships as part of being named National Merit Scholarship Program finalists earlier this year. The students were selected among the finalists at each college they plan to attend, a news release said.</p>
<p>Students who receive a college-sponsored Merit Scholarship will receive between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years, the release said.</p>

<p>Olivia Ehrlich, Trafalgar</p>
<p>Jacob Freeland, Needham</p>
<p>Saransh Garg, Greenwood</p>
