<p><strong>Jean, Gillard tee off in Illinois</strong></p>
<p>Sam Jean shot a 1-over-par 71 on Tuesday and sits in a tie for 32nd place after the first round of the Western Junior Championship at Evanston Country Club in Skokie, Illinois.</p>
<p>Jean’s former Center Grove teammate, Noah Gillard, finished his round with a 73, good for a 71st-place tie in the field of 156. Luke Armbrust and Karl Vilips top the leaderboard after both shooting 66.</p>
