BROWN COUNTY AND FORMERLY OF BARGERSVILLE

Phillip "Phil" Anthony Fischer, II, age 69 passed away Thursday evening, December 24, 2020 at his home in Brown County with his family by his side. He was a former resident of Bargersville.

Phil was born January 30, 1951, in Beech Grove, to his parents, the late Phillip Anthony and Anna Marie (Matthews) Fischer. He was a 1970 graduate of Southport High School and went on to serve in the Army National Guard of Indiana as a Specialist 5 with the 1313th Engineering Company for 6 years. Phil married Rebecca "Becky" Jane Harris on April 29, 1983 in Indianapolis. She lovingly survives after 37 devoted years of marriage.

Phil’s lifelong career was working as a carpenter. After moving to Brown County, he was excited to remodel their cabin nestled in the woods by adding decks and one of a kind touches to the interior. Phil was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Nashville since 2015 and a former member of Grace Assembly of God in Greenwood. In his spare time, he enjoyed hiking, canoeing, spelunking and repelling. He would reminisce of trips throughout his life, especially his trip to Mt. Rainer with his wife and a trip to a cave in Mexico with his closest friends. He will be remembered most for his love of family and his unyielding faith in God.

Phil is survived by his loving wife Becky; his children, Katrina (Paul) Williams of Bargersville, Ryan (Cheryl) Ridge of Franklin and Tonia (Stacy) Watts of Pendleton; grandchildren, Brandon Beck, Cody & Shane Ridge, Shannon Watts, Taylor Anderson, Mason and Coralynn Watts; siblings, Christina (Jim) Comer of Bargersville, Charles (Phyllis) Fischer of Greenwood, Carla (Mike) Griffin of Greenwood and Norman Fischer of Indianapolis, his four legged companion: Harry as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Nick Fischer.
