William ‘Bill’ McDonald

GREENWOOD

William “Bill” McDonald, 82, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, January 15, 2018. He was born to the late Virgil and Eunice McDonald.

Bill was a United States Army veteran. He married Margaret Dye in 1955. He worked for Western Electric in the molding department for 30 years, retiring in the early 1980’s. Bill loved to garden and was known for growing his tomatoes. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood working and he was an amateur trap shooter. In his down time, he enjoyed playing the lottery and a good game of poker. He loved to help his neighbors with his craftsmanship. He was a loving father and husband.

William is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret McDonald; his son, Timothy McDonald; one brother, Robert McDonald and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents ; four brothers, Charles McDonald, Virgil “June” McDonald, Jr., Loren “Bud” McDonald and John Ed McDonald and two sisters, Mary Hargrove and Betty Ivie.

A funeral service will be Saturday, January 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel by Pastor Greg Edens. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be on Monday, January 22, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at Acton Cemetery.
