Lilo Von Stralendorff

STUART, FLORIDA

Lilo von Stralendorff, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Allegro Senior Care in Stuart, Florida. She was born on March 17, 1932 in Waldkirch Germany and was the oldest of five children. She married her loving husband and best friend Vicco in 1953 and immigrated with him to Franklin, Indiana in 1957. She always missed the mountains of her native Black Forest in Germany, but found much love and friendship in Franklin, which she called home for over 60 years.

Lilo was an active volunteer with the Girl’s Club of America and The Lord’s Cupboard thrift store in Franklin. She attended the First Baptist Church, and many remember her home as a place of celebration before and after the Christmas Midnight Mass service. She always made guests feel welcome in her home and made sure they were well fed.

Lilo was very proud of her flower garden at her home on South Home Avenue. She loved nature and spending time at the family cabin in Brown County.

She is survived by her beloved husband Vicco; daughter Gabi; sons Robert (Andrea), Marc (Jessica); seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. A memorial service for Lilo will be held in Franklin at a later date.
