Celestine “Tina” Owens

EDINBURGH

Celestine “Tina” Owens, 80 of Edinburgh, Indiana, passed away October 16, 2018 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born August 5, 1938 in Columbia, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Nathan Leslie and Flossie Elizabeth (Burton) Burton. She married Gloyd Arvy Owens on September 11, 1954.

She is survived by her husband, daughter, Penny (Mike) Black of Hurst, Texas, sons, Arvy Wayne Owens of Edinburgh, Indiana and Kenna Rodman (Patricia) Owens of Whiteland, Indiana, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and brother, James Lee (Galya) Burton of Franklin, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Raymond Burton and Donald Burton, and sisters, Anna Mary Burton and Dorlis Black.

She was a member of Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church. She had worked at Arvin Industries in Franklin and had been a waitress and manager of area restaurants.

She enjoyed coffee with her family and friends and being Grandma to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A service will be conducted by Reverend Danny Bailey at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church. Calling will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday at the church and from 10:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Nineveh Cemetery in Nineveh, Indiana.
