DIY HOLIDAY ORNAMENTS, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 20, Trafalgar library, 424 S. Tower St. Make ornaments. Christmas music will be playing and hot chocolate will be served.

Christmas is less than a week away and you can get in the Christmas spirit by making your own ornament.

The Trafalgar library is hosting a DIY ornament event today. Patrons can listen to Christmas music and sip on hot chocolate while making a last-minute Christmas gift or making the item that is the last perfect touch to the tree.

The library will provide all the materials and refreshments. Register in advance at pageafterpage.org.

INDIANAPOLIS HIKING CLUB, FRANKLIN HIKE, 3 p.m. Dec. 23, hike to see the Christmas lights in downtown Franklin.

Get your exercise in and keep your holiday cheer at the same time.

The Indianapolis Hiking Club is hosting a hike on Sunday that will go around downtown Franklin to check out the holiday lights.

Hikers will go past the Johnson County courthouse on the 6- to 7-mile hike. The courthouse boasts lights on the trees outside the courthouse, lights on trees around the courthouse square and lights hung from the top of the historic building.

The hike starts at Beeson Hall and hikers will stop at a private home midway through for cookies, hot chocolate and hot tea.

The Indianapolis Hiking Club annually hosts hikes around central Indiana. Participants are also invited to get in full holiday fun gear to join a Christmas Eve walk in downtown Indianapolis.
