COUNTDOWN TO NOON, Dec. 31, Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, 3000 N. Meridian St. Youngsters can count down to noon in lieu of staying up until midnight by watching the museum’s water clock. Festivities around the clock are at noon and 1 p.m.

The wrapping paper has been torn off their gifts and stockings have been unpacked.

Now youngsters are looking toward the next holiday.

The world’s largest children’s museum, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is hosting an event to help your child celebrate welcoming in 2019, while also going to bed at a reasonable hour.

Their Countdown to Noon event features a countdown to a 12 o’clock that happens while the sun is still up.

Families can watch the museum’s water clock countdown to noon. Other festivities will help youngsters get ready for 2019. 

STOUT STORIES, 6:30 p.m. first Monday of the month, location is a different pub or brewery in the area. Free, patrons 21 and older only. Information: pageafterpage.org

You can ring in the new year with a good drink and a good book.

The Johnson County Public Library monthly hosts Stout Stories.

Patrons 21 years and older can discuss "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe" by Fannie Flagg.

Grab the book at your local library, read up and join in for a book discussion over food and beer at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 7 at Planetary Brewing, 188 S. Madison Ave., Greenwood.
