Susan Kannapel Misner, 69, went home to be with the Lord November 24, 2018 surrounded by family, friends and the presence of Jesus.

Sunday December 30 at 1:30 p.m. will be a visitation with family at Grace UMC (1300 E. Adams Dr. Franklin, Indiana), celebration of life to follow immediately at 3 p.m.

Daughter of the late Dr. William Loren and Betty Louise Fox Kannapel, Sue was born in Peoria, Ill.

She is survived by one aunt, Betty Fox, and cousins of Ohio, one sister Jo Anne de la Vega of North Carolina, and two daughters Rachel Misner of Augusta, Georgia, and Karen Misner of Hope, In.

Sue grew up in Dwight Ill then Danville Ill., where she graduated high school. She studied home economics and library science at Purdue University in Lafayette, In. Here she met her husband, John A. Misner, and they married June 14, 1970. They lived in the Spencer, Ind. area for some 3 decades. Sue attended and played piano at Shiloh Wesley United Methodist Chapel. Sue helped John (who preceded her in death) in his successful interment business until she retired in the mid 2000’s.

In 2008, Sue moved to Franklin where she was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was a member of the choir, UMW, and was very involved with many aspects of church life. Sue also volunteered at the United Methodist Community visiting residents, playing piano, and singing. She lived in Franklin until the purchase of a new home brought her to Hope Indiana. Here she spent her last few years helping friends. Sue enjoyed singing, cooking, reading, and loved the Lord, her family and friends.
