All voters in school district have say on referendum issue
To the editor:
A while back, a democrat friend and I were talking about the upcoming primary election on May 7. He was wondering since there was no democrat ballot, if a registered democrat could vote for the school referendum? I didn’t know, but it was a good question.
So I called our democrat member of the election board, Cindy Rapp, and explained our concern. She said yes, there is a way. A registered democrat can ask for as special school referendum ballot, even thought there is no democrat ballot for the May 7 primary election.
We were both glad to hear it. Since then, other democrats spoken to have wondered the same thing. I hope this is helpful to other registered democrat voters. Yes, we will still have a voice on the referendum issue.
