Letter: My vote will be for Michelle Davis

To the editor:

As many of you are aware, I announced last fall this will be my last term as state representative for House District 58. I will retire in November after the general election. It has been a great honor representing our community, but it is time for someone else to serve our district and state.

There are five people who have filed to enter the race for the District 58 seat. Over the last several months, I have had the chance to speak with each candidate and spend some time with them. I believe Michelle Davis to be the strongest candidate.

Throughout my career, it has always been my top priority to represent the people who elected me and our communities in Johnson County. Whatever the issue, I have worked hard to ensure I listen to the opinions of local Hoosiers and to let you know where I stand.

After getting to know Michelle, I recognize in her the qualities that will help her represent District 58 successfully. She is a people person and very involved in our community. She is well-educated, a hard worker and campaigner, and her role as Director of Adult Education at the Central Nine Career Center is a classic example of how she is dedicated to helping others.

She is out in the community nearly every day, knocking on doors, talking to our neighbors, our public safety officers, and our locally elected officials. She is interested in everyone’s opinions on current issues.

At the end of the day, the decision is yours. It is your choice, your vote. My vote will be for Michelle Davis.

Rep. Woody Burton, R-Whiteland
