GREENWOOD
Richard E. Higgs, 67, Greenwood, passed away on December 1, 2021. Born February 21, 1954 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Herman Higgs and Patricia Kimbro, he was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Richard had retired from his manufacturing and office supply senior director position. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed hunting, golf, and collecting sports memorabilia for his man cave. A few of his favorite teams were Indiana University, the Indianapolis Colts, Center Grove Football and Alabama. He cherished time spent together with his family; loved his dogs, Peyton &Rocky and was a doting Papa.
Survivors include his wife of 47+ years, Mary; three children, Thomas (Ramona) Higgs, Daniel Higgs, and Laura Hough; five adored grandchildren, Britney &Lucas Higgs, Cayden, Dylan and Liam Hough; two brothers, Steve (Debbie) Higgs, Mike (Shannon) Higgs, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Higgs.
Visitation will be observed on Sunday, December 5th from 2- 6:00 PM at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens of Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135. The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, December 6 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest at The Gardens at Olive Branch Mausoleum Park.
