Franklin College

Women’s basketball edged by Hanover

Destinee Cross poured in 27 points on 11-of-16 shooting, but 38 turnovers doomed Franklin College to a 65-59 home loss against Hanover on Wednesday evening. Jessica Nix added 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Grizzlies (5-9, 3-4 HCAC).

Men’s basketball suffers road loss

Franklin College took an 81-57 loss at Hanover. Ty Wright scored 19 points to lead the Grizzlies (7-8, 3-4 HCAC), followed by Carter Crowe and Reggie McDonald with 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Royals dominate Cardinals

No. 10 Roncalli picked up a 55-19 win over Southport on Wednesday. The Royals got wins by fall from Alex Plahitko (120 pounds), Bryce Lowery (138), Kody Glithero (152), Andrew Stuck (160), Luke Hansen (182), Sam Peeples (195), Justin Lewis (220) and Luke Swartz (285). Drew Willis (132) and Zach Wilson (145) were also victorious on the day.

Braves split with Mustangs

Indian Creek’s boys defeated Edgewood 71-48 on Tuesday night, while the girls lost by a score of 61-35. The Braves got wins on the boys side from both freestyle relay teams as well as Evan Schaub (200 and 500 freestyle), Evan Dennis (50 freestyle, 100 butterfly) and Nolan Greene (100 free, 100 backstroke). For the girls, Ella Taylor was first in diving and the 50 freestyle while Avery Weesner took the backstroke.
