FRANKLIN
Jo Ann “Cookie” (Summers) Stearns, 82 of Franklin, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023.
She was born on November 17, 1940 in Harlan, Kentucky. Her mother was Freda (Jackson) Jones. Jo Ann married Howard W. Stearns on July 7, 1973. He lovingly survives. She is also survived by children, Kim Limp; Virgil Fleener (Michelle); Deana Haney; Shane Fleener and Troy Stearns (Christy); several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and sisters, Bobbie Lynn Walters (Glen) and Linda “Dumplin” Wiles. She was preceded in passing by her mother and step-father, Earl Wayne Jones; sister, Ruth Ellen “Doe Doe” Grimes; brothers, Glen Summers and Basil “Bug” Summers and daughter-in-law, Kristi Fleener.
She attended Noblesville High School.
Jo Ann co-owned the This &That Flea Market in Franklin and then she and her sister-in-law, Donna Summers ran booths in the Gnaw Bone Flea Market in Gnaw Bone, Indiana.
She enjoyed collecting antiques and loved watching movies.
Visitation for Family and Friends will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. A Celebration of Life Service for Jo Ann will be held on Thursday, April 13th at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
