Sharon Newkirk Cataldi

FRANKLIN

Sharon Newkirk Cataldi, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on March 16, 2023 at her residence at the Christina Place in Franklin. She so enjoyed living at Christina Place.

She was born on November 7, 1934 in Tipton, Indiana to Paul and Louise (Thompson) Newkirk.

Sharon was a 1952 graduate from Frankfort High School. She graduated from Indiana University in 1956 with a BA in Art/Education. She was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority and Tri Kappa.

She married Ray Cataldi in 1956, they divorced and he preceded her in passing.

Sharon taught Art at Hanover Central. She later was an Adjunct Art Teacher at Franklin College and taught part-time at Edinburgh and also taught private Art lessons at her home/studio.

She is survived by seven children. Greg (Sirrilla), Mary Anne, Patti (Mike), Tony, Mike (Tina), Vicky and Joe (Michelle). She has thirteen grandchildren. Dave, Brian, Sarah, Daniel, Erin, Matt, Joe, Nick, Quinn, Mariah, Olivia, Talia and Samantha. She also has nine great-grandchildren. Gavin, McKenna, Carter, Jack, Isaiah, Belle, Serena, Lilly and Pia.

Sharon lived a Hoosier Life. “What a neat trip. Enjoy life. Look for good in others. Bloom where you are planted.”

Visitation for Sharon will be on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 15th at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin, Indiana.
