Raymond “Ray” Scott

Raymond “Ray” Scott, 91, passed away September 27, 2024. He was a lifetime resident of Johnson County.

Ray was born on July 20, 1933 in Johnson County, Indiana to Earl Scott and Edith (Blankenship) Scott. He married Catherine (Starling) Scott on July 25, 1954. She preceded him in passing in 1990. He married Shirley (Hardin) Scott on July 7, 1991. She preceded him in passing in 2018.

Ray is survived by his children, William Scott (Marcia), Rhonda Wright (Jim), Jo Truby (Sam), Melanie Mitchell (Mike), and Tery Rexroat (Mitch); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Janet McKinney (Jerry).

He was preceded in passing by his parents, Earl and Edith; wives, Catherine and Shirley; and siblings, James Nelson and Francis Connor.

He was a 1952 graduate of Whiteland High School.

Ray worked as a machinist and supervisor at Link Belt Company for 36 years before his retirement. He went on to work and retired from Thomas L. Green.

He enjoyed traveling, restoring cars, going to car shows and fish frys.

Ray was a member of the Jubilee Masonic Lodge #746 F&AM and Tabernacle Christian Church in Franklin.

A celebration of Ray’s life will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton Street in Franklin. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood.
