Alice Jean Camden

FRANKLIN

Alice Jean (Pitcher) Camden, 84, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at the Franklin United Methodist Community. She was a resident of Franklin.

She was born Jan. 18, 1931, in Morgantown to John C. and Viola (Lawson) Pitcher. She married Freddie LeRoy Camden on June 19, 1948. He preceded her in passing April 12, 1985.

Survivors include seven children, Terry Camden (Mary), Barbara Camden, Connie Kalb (Bruce), Steven Camden (Julie), Pamela Monson, Cindy Thomas (Jim) and F. Edward Camden (Sandy); a sister, Jeannette Camden; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; her husband; an infant son, Kerry; two sisters, Ida Mae Meredith and Helen Hancock; and three brothers, Oren Dale Pitcher, William Pitcher and Arthur Pitcher.

Alice attended school in Trafalgar and Morgantown. She received her LPN certificate from Ivy Tech in Columbus.

She worked as an LPN at the Franklin United Methodist Community until her retirement. She later became a Realtor.

Alice loved to travel, especially by train. She played the piano. She was very close to her family. Her grandkids were her hobby.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery near Franklin.
