FRANKLIN
Charlie Milam, 86, of Franklin, passed away on April 24, 2024. He was born on October 15, 1937 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky to the late Guy and Rosie Milam.
Charlie will be remembered as someone who would never turn away anyone in need. His warmth, his friendly smile and acts of generosity made him a person who was beloved by all.
He enjoyed hunting, going to the casino and spending time with friends and family.
Charlie was a serial entrepreneur who had investments in real estate, car lots and anything he could make a buck on. His home base for the last 35+ years has been the Milams Used Car lot in Bargersville, Indiana. Proudly known as “Ole what’s his name”
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cathy Milam; sister, Joyce Ann Wilson; son, Shane (Amanda) Milam; daughters, Shannon Milam (Glen Shake), Pam Howard (Whitey Howard), Charlene Spencer, Tina Barker (Tommy Barker), Melissa Greene, and Barb Keller (Chuck Leaty). 11 grandkids; and 8 great grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosie &Guy Milam; brothers, Demous Milam and Billie Milam; and sisters, Gracie May, Hazel Mabry, and Beulah Whittle.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM Sunday at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1605 S. State Road 135. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Monday, April 29, 2024 at the funeral home.
