Tolley picks up wins at Virginia Duals meet

Chattanooga wrestler Connor Tolley won two matches in the heavyweight division at the Virginia Duals in Hampton, Virginia, to help the Mocs place sixth in the team standings.

Tolley, a senior who graduated from Franklin, is 11-12 on the season heading into Sunday’s home meet against VMI.

FRANKLIN

Butler sophomore Chandler McGaha posted a personal best time of 1:54.83 to place second in his 800-meter heat at the Jim Green Invitational indoor track meet in Lexington, Kentucky.

Texas freshman swimmer Michael Couet placed fifth for the Longhorns in the 100 breaststroke in 56.38 seconds in the team’s victory over No. 12 Georgia. He was also sixth in the 200 breaststroke in 2:05.68.

GREENWOOD

Freshman forward Jeffrey Reynolds scored 12 points, had four rebounds and blocked a shot as the St. Francis (Indiana) men’s basketball team defeated visiting Goshen, 87-81. He had 12 points and five blocked shots in a 71-70 loss to No. 8 Spring Arbor.

Wabash College freshman Ethan Pine was part of the victorious sprint medley relay team in 3:49.63 at the Little Giants Open indoor track and field meet.

Holly Hoopingarner scored three points, grabbed four rebounds and distributed three assists for IUPUI in an 82-53 defeat of Oakland.

Mount Mary junior guard Brooke Uebersetzig had six points, three assists and two turnovers in a 62-52 loss at North Central (Minnesota).

CENTER GROVE

Senior Caroline Sheehan helped the Cincinnati women’s swim team down Xavier by being part of the 400 freestyle relay that won in a time of 3:30.20. For Xavier, junior Emily Saugstad posted her team’s fastest time in the 200 freestyle with a 1:55.96 to place fourth. She also participated in the 400 free relay (3:32.80).

Franklin College sophomore swimmer Noah Tallman helped the men’s medley relay team place second at the Colonel Classic in Danville, Kentucky, in a time of 3:37.79.

Indiana senior Derek Grimmer set a new personal record time in the 400-meter dash, clocking a time of 48.73 seconds at the Jim Green Invitational hosted by the University of Kentucky. In the same meet, Xavier senior Grant Stapleton ran a leg of the fourth-place distance relay, which produced a time of 10:17.65.

Dayton sophomore Olivia Rassel ran a personal record time of 28.13 seconds in the 200-meter dash at the Jim Green Invitational indoor track meet in Lexington, Kentucky. She also lowered her best 60-meter time with an 8.56.

Junior Reed Sauter placed second in the 600-meter run for Wabash College at the Little Giants Open indoor track meet. Sauter’s time was 1:25.10.

Lipscomb’s Lauren Rau had 10 points, three assists and two rebounds in an 80-65 loss to Stetson. She followed that with a career-high 27 points in an 80-67 loss at NJIT.

Purdue freshman Cassidy Hardin scored three points and dished three assists in her team’s 57-54 win at Northwestern. She had a rebound and assist in a 65-63 loss at Rutgers.

Holy Cross (Indiana) senior Jessica Norris finished with three points, a rebound and assist in an 85-56 loss at St. Ambrose. Norris had 15 points and eight assists in a 75-73 loss to visiting Governors State (Illinois).

Indiana State forward Regan Wentland had five rebounds, two assists and three steals in the Sycamores’ 61-45 home loss to Bradley.

Eastern Kentucky sophomore guard Val Clark had a rebound in a 69-43 loss at Belmont.

Belmont junior Michael Benkert scored two points, had two rebounds and passed out an assist in the Bruins’ 109-93 decision over Eastern Kentucky.

Indiana Wesleyan guard Trevor Harrell played five minutes and picked up an assist in the third-ranked Wildcats’ 105-69 victory over Huntington.

Illinois State volleyball player Ali Line took home the Kristin Kueltzo Inspiration Award after helping lead the Redbirds to a 25-8 season and berth in the NCAA tournament. Line completed her ISU career with 963 kills and 327 blocks.

INDIAN CREEK

Franklin College freshman Addie Rund had four points, three rebounds and three assists in a 69-66 loss at Earlham. Rund had two points, a rebound and steal in a 70-69 overtime loss to Transylvania.

Bethel freshman Jared DeHart finished with four points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 78-68 loss at eighth-ranked at Spring Arbor.

Indiana Tech senior Dylan Phair finished his team’s 68-57 loss at Cornerstone with five points, five rebounds and two assists. Phair had 20 points, four rebounds and three assists in a 68-65 victory at Concordia (Michigan).

WHITELAND

St. Francis downed Goshen, 74-50, in women’s basketball as sophomore forward Sidney Crowe scored eight points. Crowe also had 13 points, a block and assist in the team’s 73-46 win over Spring Arbor.

Illinois freshman Mackenzie Blazek grabbed three boards and made an assist in a 62-48 loss at Penn State.
