Grizzly Cubs fall in shootout

Franklin was defeated by Decatur Central in a penalty kick shootout after the teams finished the match tied at 1-1. The Grizzly Cubs fall to 2-3 overall, 1-1 in the Mid-State Conference.

Roncalli blanks Cathedral

Emma Agresta made seven saves and Sophia Saran and Jamie Mahin each scored a goal in Roncalli’s 2-0 triumph over Cathedral on Wednesday.

Braves top Spartans in four

Indian Creek used a balanced offensive attack to defeat Southwestern on Tuesday night, 25-20, 19-25, 25-21, 25-13. Ava McClanahan paced the Braves with 12 kills, five blocks and 12 digs, while Faith Wiseman and Emilee Scott added 11 and nine kills, respectively. Jessie Hart set the table with 35 assists.

HCAC postpones all fall sports

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced Wednesday that it has decided to postpone all of its fall sports competitions until the spring. The league had previously pushed back its “high risk” sports (football, soccer and volleyball) but had still been planning to run “low risk” sports — cross country, golf and tennis.
