Forrest Wayne Wells 85 of Franklin, IN passed way Wednesday December 23, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on April 18, 1935 near Coal City, Indiana in Owen County to Clarence Harlan Wells and Maude Anna (Smith) Wells. He graduated from Coal City High School in 1953. He was raised on the farm and after high school, he worked on the railroad for the summer months. He moved to Indianapolis after securing employment at Eli Lilly and Company that fall. He retired from there in 1993 after 40 years of service. On October 14, 1955, he married Pauline (Jacobs) Wells of Missouri. Following the birth of their first child in 1956, they moved to Franklin, Indiana where he spent the rest of his life. He and his family joined Franklin Memorial Church (now Victory Christian Church) where he served as deacon for a few years. Because of the farming background he enjoyed working on neighbor’s farms during the summer months while also working his full time job at Lilly’s.

Survivors include his wife Pauline (Jacobs) Wells of Franklin, IN, their three children Patrick Wells (Jeanene) of Murfreesboro, TN, Michael Wells (Sally) of Franklin, IN, and Sandra Higginbotham (Jim) of Franklin, IN, six grandchildren Danielle Lewis (Rocky) of Bell Buckle, TN, Joshua Wells of Mascot, TN, Jeremy Wells (Cathy), Casey Dilley (Nate), Carie Lamphire (Brian) and Jamie Higginbotham (Sylvia) all of Franklin, IN, fifteen great-grandchildren, two brothers Robert Wells of Franklin, IN and Rex Wells (Leah) of Franklin, IN and a sister Lois Sheese of Indianapolis, IN. Pastor Josh Cadwell will conduct a service on Wednesday December 30, 2020 at 10:30AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed for family and friends to connect at <a href="http://www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/forrest-wells">www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/forrest-wells</a>. Please use Firefox Internet or Google Chrome for optimal viewing. Friends may call Tuesday December 29, 2020 from 4PM until 8PM at the mortuary. Facial coverings or mask are required for those attending. A graveside service will follow on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Fiscus Cemetery near Coal City in Owen County, IN.
