<p>Baseball</p><p><strong>Woodmen get back at Warriors</strong></p><p>Greenwood scored five runs in the second inning and salvaged a split of its Mid-State Conference series against Whiteland with an 11-7 road win on Thursday. Alex Honeycutt and Josh Miller had three hits apiece for the Woodmen (1-2, 1-1), with Miller and Payton King driving in two runs each. Landen Wood homered for the Warriors (2-2, 1-1).</p><p><strong>Grizzly Cubs finish series sweep</strong></p><p>Xavier Brown homered and Nolan Netter drove in a pair of runs as Franklin finished off a home-and-home sweep with a 6-2 win at Plainfield. Winning pitcher Logan Devenport (5 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 7 K) also had two hits at the plate for the Grizzly Cubs (4-2, 2-0 Mid-State).</p><p>Girls tennis</p><p><strong>Warriors swat Hornets</strong></p><p>Whiteland dropped just three games overall in a 5-0 wipeout of Beech Grove on Thursday. Sarah Scott, Brooke Boehnlein and Sara Ullrich were singles winners for the Warriors (2-0), while Molly Brosnan and Natelie Cloer were victorious at first doubles and Kaylee Hoagland and Lauren Trimble won in the No. 2 spot.</p><p><strong>Trojans sweep Falcons</strong></p><p>Center Grove rolled past Perry Meridian, 5-0, with Ashlee Fisk, Sonya Vyas and Deepthi Shankar all taking their singles matches in straight sets. Both doubles teams — Sapna Vyas and Sydney Plowman at No. 1 and Hudson Gilstorf and Lauren Dick — won by 6-0, 6-0 scores for the Trojans.</p><p><strong>Woodmen fall to Cardinals</strong></p><p>Greenwood was edged by Southport, 3-2. Sophia Davidson was a winner at No. 1 singles for the Woodmen (0-2), while the first doubles tandem of Maggie Boyce and Brooklyn Hanson were also triumphant.</p><p>Boys golf</p><p><strong>Braves split three-way</strong></p><p>Indian Creek opened its season on Thursday by defeating South Putnam 183-191 and getting edged by host Owen Valley 181-183. The Braves were led by Braxton Christie (38) and Clark Haywood (41).</p><p>Track and field</p><p><strong>Woodmen fall to Flashes</strong></p><p>Greenwood lost a dual meet against Franklin Central on Thursday. Luke Hommell won the 110 and 300 hurdles for the Woodmen boys, who also got first-place finishes from Tanner Allen (100) and Gabe Long (shot put). Winning for the girls were Amy Luttrell (100), Ava Leininger (800), Siena Halfaker (100 hurdles), Ellie Irwin (high jump) and the 4×100 relay team.</p>
