Marjorie Anne Harris

GREENWOOD, IN.

Marjorie Anne (Williams) Harris 87 of Greenwood, IN passed away Saturday July 17, 2021 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN.

She was born August 12, 1933 in Columbus, IN to Charles and Janice (Boffo) Williams. She married Roy Dale Harris on August 12, 1951 at East 10th Street United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, he preceded her in death on July 3, 2013.

She was a 1950 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis where she was a member of the band and played trombone.

She had been secretary for the guidance department at Center Grove High School for many years having retired in 1994.

She had been a member of Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church at Stones Crossing in Greenwood since 1956 where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, played the piano and organ and taught Sunday School. She had also volunteered as a pink lady at Johnson Memorial Hospital and been a den mother.

Survivors include her four sons Michael D. Harris (Audrey) of Greenwood, IN, Gary C. Harris (Mary) of Morristown, IN, Matthew R. Harris of Portage, MI and Terry L. Harris (Joanna) of Tampa, FL, seven grandchildren Charles Heath Harris (Allison) of Morristown, IN, Cody Alan Harris (Emily Loewen) of Morristown, IN, Christian Roy Harris (Jessica) of Kalamazoo, MI, Kimberly Michele Lesher (Brandon) of Louisville, KY, Lisa Nicole Bauermeister (Andy) of Greenwood, IN, Ashley Lynn Combs (Seth) of Southport, IN, and Zada Helaine Harris of Grand Rapids, MI, ten great grandchildren Dalton Lesher, Emma Lesher, Mackenzie Eckert, Amelia Eckert, Garrett Bauermeister, Kate Bauermeister, Nora Bauermeister, Ryker Harris, Tucker Harris and Parker Harris, a brother James Joseph Williams (Betty) of Greenwood, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy Dale Harris and a brother Charles Max Williams.

The Reverend Jeff Buck will conduct a service on Thursday July 22, 2021 at 11AM at Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church 3100 West Stones Crossing Road Greenwood, IN.

Friends may call Wednesday July 21, 2021 from 4PM until 8PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and Thursday July 22, 2021 from 10 AM until service time at the church. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
