GREENWOOD, IN.
Pete Lawrence Bauer entered into the presence of his Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday August 19, 2021 at his home in Greenwood, IN surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 26, 1934 in Martin County, Indiana to Henry and Mary (Mann) Bauer
Pete graduated from Shoals High School and was a United States Army Veteran having served in Germany from 1957 until 1959. He was employed as a truck driver for Renner’s Express for many years and retired from TNT Holland in 1994. He was a member of Teamsters Local 135 in Indianapolis. He loved reading his Bible, golfing, gardening, Center Grove and I.U. sports.
He married Carolyn Lea Anderson on May 25, 1960 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dubois, IN. Their union was blessed with three wonderful children: Melanie Norman (Doug) of Greenwood, IN, Brian Bauer of Greenwood, IN and Stacy Wiltshire (Fred) of Indianapolis, IN: six fantastic grandchildren Aaron Beasley (Leyla) of Greenwood, IN, John Norman (Brittany) of Greenwood, IN, Jacob Beasley (Tiffany) of Boiling Springs, SC, Jared Norman of Greenwood, IN, Kelsey Beasley of Evansville, IN and Joel Norman (Olivia) of Greenwood, IN and four precious great grandchildren: LucÃa, Caleb, SofÃa and Clara, three step grandchildren: Dawn Koers (Mark) of Indianapolis, IN, Tina Molnar (Michael) of Boise, ID and Brian Wiltshire (Shannon) of Indianapolis, IN, three step great grandchildren Meghan, Eddie and Naomi, two sisters Margaret Zehr (Armin) of Dubois, IN and Ann Troutman (Lee) of French Lick, IN, three brothers Louie Bauer of Bloomington, IN, Augie Bauer (Helen) of Shoals, IN and Kenny Bauer of Dubois, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Rose McKibben and Helen Greene and two brothers: George Bauer and Wally Bauer.
A service will be conducted on Tuesday August 24, 2021 at 7PM at Crosspointe Community Church 1222 Demaree Road Greenwood, IN with visitation on Tuesday from 3PM until the 7PM service at the church. The United States Army Honor Guard will conduct military honors following the service.
A graveside service will be on Wednesday August 25, 2021 at 12 Noon at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery 5105 Indiana 56 (IN-56) in Dubois, IN with full military honors to follow.
