Prusiecki, Keller win county diving titles

Center Grove’s Mia Prusiecki and Franklin’s Drake Keller came out on top during the 1-meter diving portion of this weekend’s Johnson County meet, easily claiming the girls and boys titles at Center Grove on Friday night.

Prusiecki, the state runner-up last year as a freshman, broke her own meet record with a score of 511.15 and easily outdistanced fellow sophomores Ella Taylor of Indian Creek (414.90) and Camy Quiggins of Franklin (410.45). On the boys side, Keller finished at 401.85, well ahead of teammate Austin Clark (320.20).

The swimming portion of the meet begins today at 9 a.m., also at Center Grove.

Grizzly Cub girls dominate Artesians

Franklin’s girls tuned up for the county meet with a 111-44 win at Martinsville on Thursday night. Jyllian Antle paced the Grizzly Cubs with first-place finishes in the 50 and 100 freestyle, while Emily Martin (200 free), Paige Lawrence (200 IM), Allie Lacy (500 free), Jobey Salyers (100 backstroke) and Kathleen Lacy (100 breaststroke) also had event wins.

Braves stay unbeaten in WIC

Lauren Foster scored 21 points as Indian Creek stayed perfect in conference play with a 45-24 home win over Edgewood on Friday. Faith Wiseman added 10 points and Emily Todor nine for the Braves (9-2, 5-0 WIC), who have won seven in a row.

Men’s basketball earns home win

Matt Krause posted his fourth double-double of the young season, totaling 21 points and 16 rebounds to lead Franklin College past visiting Berea, 87-65, on Friday. Ty Wright contributed 20 points for the Grizzlies (6-2), followed by Carter Crowe with a career-high 15.
