Braves dominate Monrovia

Lauren Foster’s 25 points helped propel Class 3A No. 6 Indian Creek to a 70-38 victory over Monrovia on Saturday. Faith Wiseman and Abby Fleetwood each scored 16 points for the Braves (2-0), with Wiseman also grabbing 11 rebounds.

Franklin College

Women’s swim dual streak snapped

Franklin College’s women dominated Bluffton on Saturday but lost to Centre, 171-125, snapping a dual-meet win streak of 51 meets that spanned more than five seasons. Samantha Phillips won the 200-yard butterfly along with the 200 and 500 freestyle events, Faith Jackson qualified for the NCAA diving regional while winning on the 1-meter board, while teammate Carley Bond was first at 3 meters.

On the men’s side, the Grizzlies edged Centre, 155-143 while also routing Bluffton. Event winners for Franklin included Jack Burke (100 and 200 backstroke, 200 individual medley), Gauge Creech (1- and 3-meter diving), Kosmo Wojack (100 and 200 fly), Tyler Wood (1,000 freestyle and 200 breaststroke), Campbell Coyle (200 free) and the 200 freestyle relay.
