Sylvia Mae White

GREENWOOD

Sylvia Mae White went home to Jesus on Good Friday, March 29th at age 86. How fitting that she left this life to be joined with her Savior on the weekend celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Sylvia was born to James and Thelma Weber on July 20, 1937 in Wabash, Indiana. After graduating from Manual High School, she went on to study Nursing at Indiana Central College and earned a Masters of Nursing at University of Washington. She spent several years sharing her knowledge and teaching other nurses.

Sylvia met her husband, David Eugene White, in 1966 at University Heights Church in Indianapolis. They married on June 25,1967 and went on to raise two boys, Charles Anthony and David Randolph. She resided in Greenwood for over fifty years.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Sylvia also loved music and sang in the

choir at Greenwood United Methodist Church where she was a member for many years.

In retirement, Dave and Sylvia traveled, took many fishing trips, and made frequent visits to see their grandchildren.

Throughout Sylvia’s entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with

those around her. She enjoyed all things related to nature and she especially loved birds.

Sylvia joins her parents James, Thelma, and her brother, Jim (Kathy), in Heaven.

She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-six years, David, along with her children, Charles (Lisa) and David (Jae Ann), and 4 grandchildren, Coleson, Isabel, Garrett and Julia.

Please join her family as they celebrate her life on Saturday, April 6th at 3:00 pm at Greenwood United Methodist Church. Arrangements entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory-Greenwood Chapel.
