Festival Country: Eclipse-ready merchandise and souvenirs

The event of the century — the total solar eclipse — is finally here and Franklin and the surrounding communities are smack dab in the middle of it all.

I’ve been amazed by all the creatively designed T-shirts, ornaments and other mementos people have created to commemorate the April 8 eclipse. Below are some of the many great options. Visit eclipsefestival2024.com to learn more about the eclipse and the available souvenirs.

Franklin

Festival Country Indiana is giving away free ISO (International Organization Standardization) certified eclipse glasses at their visitor center at 66 S. Water St. They also have customized eclipse merchandise such as T-shirts, posters and postcards.

Woven Co. Candle Studio, which opened Friday, is a pour-your-own candle making studio and they’ll also be selling eclipse soap, coasters, stickers, and more. They’re located on 200 E. Jefferson St.

Possibilities: Home Re-Imagined on 100 E. Jefferson St., has a wide selection of unique eclipse souvenirs such as totes, T-shirts, tumblers and more.

Hoosier Cupboard Candy, Snacks and Ice Cream is offering a limited-edition Eclipse Root Beer at 370 E. Jefferson St.

The Historic Artcraft Theatre, 57 N. Main St. is selling eclipse T-shirts inspired by classic movie films.

T-Shirt Express is offering customizable apparel and accessories where you can personally create your own merchandise with eclipse logos or wording. They also offer a selection of their own pre-made apparel in their store at 165 E. Jefferson St.

Middle Davids Artisan Candles has a handmade limited-edition candle in honor of the eclipse. They also have eclipse themed merchandise made by local artists and artisans. You can visit them at 100 S. Jackson St.

10 Pins, located on 27 W. Monroe St., is selling eclipse cups and shirts at their mini-bowling alley center.

The Knitting Otter has yarn-themed eclipse shirts that they’re selling. You can visit this fiber arts shop at 111 E. Monroe St.

The amphitheater, located at 237 W. Monroe St., will have an eclipse market with live music, food trucks, and more April 6, 7 and 8.

Greenwood

Take Root Country Store is hosting an Eclipse Handmade Market with more than 40 local handmade vendors that will have numerous one-of-a-kind eclipse souvenirs and treats April 6 and 7 at 202 N. Madison Ave.

Grafton Peek Mercantile has locally made products, including eclipse souvenirs that are handcrafted by Indiana artisans and vendors. You can visit them at 280 W. Main St.

The Greenwood Public Library, 310 S. Meridian St., is selling acrylic and wooden solar eclipse magnets to celebrate the eclipse.

Bargersville

Taxman Brewing Company is launching two limited-edition beers named “Totality” and “In the Black” the day of the eclipse on April 8. The event is from noon to 10 p.m. at 13 S. Baldwin St.

Mallow Run Winery is selling handmade eclipse jewelry in their tasting room at 6964 W. Whiteland Road.

Trafalgar

At Home with Heartland, located at 107 N. State Road 135, Trafalgar and 150 W. Jefferson St., Franklin, is selling T-shirts that say “Total Eclipse of the Heartland.”

The Nook Gallery is selling limited edition T-shirts. They’re located at 102 W. Pearl St.

Edinburgh

Simple Abundance, located at 110 W. Main Cross St., is selling eclipse ornaments that can also be used as suncatchers.

The eclipse is from 1:50 to 4:23 p.m. on Monday, with totality from approximately 3:05:52 to 3:09:54 p.m. (all times are Eastern time). Solar eclipse glasses must be worn during the partial eclipse, but people can safely look up at the eclipse without eclipse glasses during the four minutes of totality.

With the next total eclipse not happening until the year 2153, our communities and local businesses are making the most of it.
