Letter: Stick to facts when deciding who gets the credit

To the editor:

I am a firm believer in the first Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, and I would object to any attempt to silence anyone’s such right. What I do object to, is when a person or persons tried to convince me that current economic successes are directly the result of prior administrations.

I just wish that these people would support their contentions with factual statistical data. For example, prior to the current administration, we had increasing welfare and food stamp recipients, high unemployment among minority groups, business and banking failures, high tax rates, low total employment and low annual economic growth. So how can one contend that such factors contribute to today’s successes?
