Grizzly Cubs sweep Woodmen

Franklin defeated Mid-State Conference rival Greenwood on Thursday, 5-0. Reid Davidson, Nathan Neville and Colin Anderson won their respective singles matches in straight sets for the Grizzly Cubs; Tyler Jones and Brady Tucker rallied for a three-set triumph at No. 1 doubles, while the No. 2 pair of Luke Sherry and Jaxson Doddridge won in two sets.

Whiteland defeats Quakers

Whiteland was a 4-1 winner over Plainfield, paced by singles victories from Spencer Gillespie, Carson Baumann and Jeremiah Hurt. Gavin Stubbe and Isaac Phegley added a win at No. 2 doubles for the Warriors (2-1).

Girls golf

Warriors tame Golden Bears

Led by a career-best round of 40 from Chloe Cooper, Whiteland coasted to a 192-237 win over Shelbyville on Thursday. Kylie McGovern carded a 46 for the Warriors, while Karley Hoagland and Elayna Taylor each shot 53.

Braves fall to Cougars, Eagles

Indian Creek came up on the short end of matches against Greenwood Christian and Brown County, posting a team score of 232. The Braves were led by a 48 from Shelby Roach and a 57 from Emily Hogue.

Lancers win three-way

Edinburgh got a 46 from Macie Blandford and a 48 out of Izzy Richardson in a three-way match with Morristown and Oldenburg Academy at Timbergate.

Volleyball

Edinburgh loses in three sets

Despite 16 kills and 17 digs from MacKenzie Bieker, Edinburgh suffered a 25-23, 25-17, 25-18 loss to South Decatur on Thursday. Jessica Walsh added seven kills, 29 digs and three aces for the Lancers, while Zoey Sida had seven kills and 20 digs. Kyah Streeval totaled 35 assists.

Whiteland salvaged a 1-1 draw with Mid-State foe Plainfield on Thursday. J.D. Lompo converted a penalty kick to get the Warriors (0-1-1) on the board.
