When Lauren Foster and Faith Wiseman found out that they’re sharing Daily Journal Player of the Year honors in girls basketball this season, each genuinely seemed happier for the other than for herself — which makes Indian Creek’s team success this winter make even more sense.

The Bentley women’s basketball team downed Southern New Hampshire, 61-49, in the championship game of the Northeast-10 Conference women’s basketball tournament. Center Grove graduate Ella Thompson helped lead the Falcons to the title with her 15 points, four rebounds and three assists.

When the whistle blew on the morning of March 1, trout season opened in Missouri. I was standing under the bridge at Montauk State Park. On both sides of me, other anglers were a rod length away, and I was happy to have them there. The trout opener is a celebration of fishing. It was fun to spend the day with over 1,000 fellow anglers.

When it comes to establishing goals for the upcoming season, Shelby Wingler is swinging for the fences.
