A rough start, much of it self-inflicted, was too much for Edinburgh to overcome on Friday night.

It was an all-around impressive performance for Indian Creek Friday night, as it shut out visiting Owen Valley, 38-0. Led by a defense that stopped the Patriots on fourth down on six different occasions and quarterback Jalen Sauer, who was phenomenal with both his legs and his arm, the Braves dominated the contest from the opening kickoff.

MARTINSVILLE

Center Grove’s 30-game win streak ended last year at the hands of Louisville Trinity. Coach Eric Moore and his returning players clearly hadn’t forgotten.

Taylor volleyball player Sarah Scott finished the team’s four matches at the Milligan Mountain Madness tournament in Tennessee with 36 kills and eight digs. That included 15 kills in a four-set triumph against Coastal Carolina for the sophomore outside hitter, a Whiteland product.

At some point during the state tournament in October, Center Grove is going to find itself with its back against the wall. After Thursday night, it should feel confident about its ability to handle such moments.
