FRANKLIN, IN.
Ralph “Eddie” Hommel 61 of Franklin, IN passed away Wednesday October 14, 2020 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN. He was born March 23, 1959 in Franklin, IN to Donald Gerald Hommel and Joyce Janouise Frost. He married Doris A. (Gaskins) Hommel on June 24, 1982 in Franklin, IN, she survives. He had been a machine maintenance associate for R & R Technologies in Edinburgh, IN for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, deer and mushroom hunting. Survivors include his wife Doris A. (Gaskins) of Franklin, IN, two daughters Heather N. Hommel of Franklin, IN and Amanda R. Lovins (Eric) of Franklin, IN, a son Matthew J. Hommel of Franklin, IN, two grandchildren Eli Lovins and Avett Lovins, a sister Donna J. Muller (Thomas) of Indianapolis, IN, a brother Douglas W. Hommel of Franklin, IN, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son Brian Lee Hommel, his parents and two brothers Kenneth Hommel and Bryan Hommel. The Reverend Shan Rutherford will conduct a service on Monday October 19, 2020 at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed for family and friends to connect at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/ralph-hommel. Friends may call Monday October 19, 2020 from 11AM until the 1PM service at the mortuary. Due to COVID-19 mandates, facial coverings or mask are required for those attending.
