She was born on February 9, 1922 in Cass County, Indiana to Cecil Stonebraker and Eva (Mason) Stonebraker. Madalynn was raised in Kokomo and graduated from Kokomo High School in 1940. On June 2, 1940 she married the love of her life, Ernest Dale Templin. They were married for 67 years until his passing in 2007. She was a homemaker and didn’t work outside the home until later years. After moving to Shelbyville in 1950, Madalynn was a member of Kappa Kappa Sigma sorority, United Methodist Church and was employed by the Shelbyville National Bank. In 1964 the family moved to Franklin. Madalynn was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church and worked at Webb School for several years.

Madalynn and Dale enjoyed music, dancing, traveling, and entertaining. These fun hobbies were always shared with either family or a group of six other couples which called themselves “The Gang”. “The Gang” shared much laughter and many fun times together including trips to Europe, Mexico City, a Hawaiian cruise, and trips to different states. Madalynn enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her three granddaughters. Being an avid Pacers fan, she knew all the players’ names. She was blessed to live independently and drive safely until she was 97. Madalynn was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She was always described as gracious and kind.

Madalynn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed greatly by her family.
