William "Bill" Borden Green, 95, passed away December 25, 2020 at his residence at Morning Pointe of Franklin.
</p>
<p>
Bill was born on July 27, 1925 in Franklin, Indiana to Roy Weaver Green and Mabel (Borden) Green. He married Joyce Louise (Beeler) Green on November 16, 1952 after meeting on a blind date. They were married for nearly 66 years before her passing on October 28, 2018. Together they built a strong, solid marriage and a loving family.

He is survived by his son, Bill Green (Susan); grandchildren, Jennifer N. McCauley of Franklin, Joanna L. Christoff (Jeff) of Franklin, Erin S. Harris (Doug) of Franklin, Tennessee, Jessica J. Gillaspy (Mark) of Seymour, Amy L. Alarc?n (Nicol?s) of Atlanta, Georgia, Jamie A. Green of Franklin; great grandchildren, Hailey, Macy, Jonah, Lena, Emma, Lex, Cole, Cash, Gracie, Gretta, and Lucas; great-great granddaughter, Mia; many nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, David Beeler (Suzanne) of Camp Verde, Arizona and Dr. Reverend James White (Carolyn) of Pensacola, Florida; sisters-in-law, Anne White of Maine, and Caroline Beeler of Payson, Arizona.

Bill is preceded in passing by his parents, Roy and Mabel; wife, Joyce; daughter, Jane Ann Krueger; son-in-law, Gregory Krueger; and siblings, Donald Green, Ed Green, Joe Green, and Matilda Foster.
</p>
<p>
Bill graduated from Franklin Community High School in 1943. He went on to join the United States Marine Corps where he served during WWII for 28 months without leave in the South Pacific and China. He graduated from Franklin College in 1950 where he became a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He worked for his cousin at Central L&amp;M Supply from 1952 until 1968. He went on to work for Arvin from 1968 until his retirement in 1988 at the age of 62.
</p>
<p>
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #107 F&amp;AM and a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church. He also belonged to the Hillview Country Club. Bill and Joyce enjoyed fishing. They also went to Florida during the winter months for many years. Bill was known to always supply a dish of ice cream and cookies to his guests. He liked to have fun and host gatherings for his friends and family. He enjoyed Christmas and listening to Christmas music. He was known for his sense of humor and love of life.
</p>
<p>
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin where military honors will be conducted. Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
