Edward J. ‘Joe’ La Fleur, age 70, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, December 14, 2021 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Indianapolis and a former resident of Trafalgar.

Joe was born June 19, 1951 in Alexandria, VA, to the late Edward J. and Myrtle E. (Zigler) La Fleur. He attended Northside High School in Ft. Wayne and went on to study Marketing and Psychology at Black Hawk College in Kewanee, IL. By the age of 20, Joe had moved 19 times and continued this pattern his entire life. He was always seeking that next newest or biggest thing in life. Joe had a keen sense about people and life situations. He was very inquisitive about the how and why of how things worked. Joe will be remembered for always being willing to share stories about his life experiences or to talk about how proud he was of his children’s accomplishments.

Through the years, Joe held over 46 jobs by helping companies either start up or restructure themselves. He has held the title of Opportunist, Writer, Poet, Baby Photographer and worked in Marketing and Psychology. Joe has written books for emotionally handicap children and over 48 poems. He enjoyed listening to Rock n Roll Music and studying holistic medicine.

Joe is survived by his wife, Arlene Hazelgrove, whom he married on January 30, 2021 in Greenwood, He is also survived by his children, Melissa La Fleur of Carmel, Holly La Fleur of Wilkinson, Lesley La Fleur and Neal (Frankie) La Fleur, both of Greenwood; siblings, Chuck Feazell Sr. of Southport &Jeanie Fritz of Grand Rapids, MI; and a grandson, Dreyson Zens.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In keeping with Joe’s wishes, he will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation &Personalization Center in Morgantown.
