AMITY, IN.

Edward Nelson Dragoo, 73, of Amity, IN passed away Thursday May 12, 2022. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on August 31, 1948, to Lloyd Nelson Dragoo and Eleanor Louise (Switzer) Dragoo.

He was a 1967 graduate of Franklin Community High School. During school he worked at Lanham’s Shoe Store.

He had worked for Whiteside’s Fine Clothing for Men and Mann’s for Men in Franklin. He also had worked at Dell Brothers Clothing in Columbus, IN, Allis-Chalmers and Kawneer in Franklin. Edward also owned and operated Dragoo Auctioneering for many years.

He had been a member of the Jaycees, a member of the B.P.O.E. Franklin Elks 1818, Franklin Masonic Lodge #107 and Franklin Memorial Christian Church. He also enjoyed fishing and trapping.

Survivors include his two daughters Cynthia Dragoo Whitaker (Pastor Kevin) of Whiteland, IN and Laura Dragoo of New Whiteland, IN, two grandchildren Rachel Whitaker of Indianapolis, IN and Zachary Whitaker of Ft. Wayne, IN, three sisters Sharon Baker (Jack) of Franklin, IN, Sara Rather (Mike) of Franklin, IN and Becky Neeley (Steve) of Indianapolis, IN, a special friend Donna Hudson of Franklin, IN and a former spouse Marilyn (Arnold) Dragoo of New Whiteland, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Jack Dragoo and an infant sister Joyce Elaine Dragoo.

The Franklin Masonic Lodge #107 will conduct a masonic service on Monday May 16, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN with a service to follow to be conducted by Pastors Kevin Whitaker and Gene Dunlap and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com. Friends may call Monday, May 16, 2022 from 11 a.m. until service time at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
