Stephen Allen Bowers, Esq.

ST. GEORGE, UT

Stephen Allen Bowers, Esq., age 71, went home to the Lord on 17 February 2022 at St. George Regional Hospital surrounded by family and a friend. He was a resident of St. George, Utah for many years. He was born to Harold E. and M. Eileen Bowers on August 30, 1950 in Decatur County, Greensburg, Indiana and grew up on a farm west of Greensburg. He loved telling his best memories about growing up as a farm boy in Indiana, and loved playing basketball, football and baseball. He truly loved his family. He was a 1968 graduate of Edinburgh High School, and then graduated from John Herron School of Art (IU) in 1972. He moved to California and started his family where he received his law degree from Pepperdine University in May 1990, and he successfully practiced law in multiple states for nearly 30 years. While he was quite successful at law, his true passion was art, as clearly demonstrated by his sketches and paintings. Stephen was the oldest of six children.

He is survived by his two sons, Nathan Bowers (Kimberly); Matthew Bowers of Los Angeles, CA. and his siblings Dale (Debbie) of Franklin, IN. Rebecca (James Davis) of Edinburgh, IN., John (Diane) of Monticello, KY., Rachel (Allen Shelley) of Smyrna, GA., David (Shawn) of West Hills, CA., many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, many cousins as well as many friends. He was predeceased by his loving parents, and his son Aaron. He is also survived by his faithful and loving canine companion, Wolfie, who still resides in St. George Utah with a family friend.

He was a devout Christian and a member of Southland Bible Church and of the St. George Utah Dixie Detachment 1270, USMC Marine Corps League. A Celebration of Life is planned for July 1, 2022 to be held at Columbus Baptist Church, 4821 N US Hwy 31, Columbus IN from 5pm – 8pm. We welcome his friends to share their memories and significance of Steve in their lives. A Celebration of Life and graveside service will be held during the Bowers Family Reunion at Hopewell Cemetery, Holton IN, across from Hopewell Baptist Church, 2319 N County Rd 850 W, Holton IN.
