Edinburgh overcomes Eagles

After dropping the first set, Edinburgh stormed back for a 23-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-21 victory over Brown County. Gracie Crawhorn had eight kills, six blocks and 22 digs for the Lancers, while Kyah Streeval totaled 21 assists. Jessica Walsh had 24 digs and Zoey Sida pulled up 21.

Braves rally late for victory

Senior Brendan Conner came from a set down to win at second singles, lifting Indian Creek to a 3-2 triumph at Shelbyville on Thursday. The Braves (15-0) also took both doubles points, with Aiden Pemberton and Landon Sichting winning at No. 1 and Trent Volz and Aaron Spurgeon doing so at No. 2.

Warriors shut out Falcons

No. 28 Whiteland swept Perry Meridian, 5-0, with Spencer Gillespie, Ty McCullars and Carson Baumann dropping a combined four games in their singles victories. Kai Koester and Chase Koester won in straight sets at first doubles, while the No. 2 duo of Gavin Stubbe and Isaac Phegley did the same for the Warriors (12-4).

Lancers handle Lutheran

Edinburgh cruised to a 5-0 win over Indianapolis Lutheran. Max Blandford, Austin Brockman and Milas Burkman all won in straight sets in singles play, while Bailey Tottenham and Braylon Lenkner picked up the point at No. 1 doubles in similar fashion.

Grizzly Cubs defeat Artesians

Franklin topped Martinsville, 5-0, winning each match in straight sets. Caleb Funkhouser, Reid Davidson and Nathan Neville were singles winners for the Grizzly Cubs, Luke Sherry and Pryce Rucker came out on top at No. 1 doubles and Ian Blackketter and Dylan Funkhouser were victorious at second doubles.

Woodmen blanked by Quakers

Greenwood was defeated by Plainfield, 5-0, falling to 13-8 overall and 3-4 in the Mid-State Conference.

Royals edge Ritter

Roncalli picked up a 3-2 win over Cardinal Ritter, getting wins from Christopher Stanley and Henry Howe in the top two singles spots as well as the No. 1 doubles team of Jordan Bauerle and Charlie Baker.

Braves top Warriors

Hannah Emenhiser was the medalist with a 40 as Indian Creek defeated Whiteland, 192-207, at Tameka Woods on Thursday. Shelby Roach added a 47 for the Braves, while Reese Tunell carded a 50.

Emenhiser had another 40 as the Braves pulled out a victory over Bloomington North on Wednesday. The two sides both finished at 193 but Indian Creek prevailed on the fifth-score tiebreak. Roach and Emily Hogue shot 49 and 50, respectively, in the win.

Edinburgh wins three-way

Izzy Richardson was the medalist with a 42 as Edinburgh easily defeated Southwestern and North Decatur on Thursday. Macie Blandford finished with a 50 for the Lancers.

Locals to compete at junior event

The Dye’s Walk 13U All-Stars, a team of eight area golfers, will be competing this weekend in the PGA Junior League Regional at Oxmoor Country Club in Louisville. There will be six teams competing for one of the 12 spots in the national championship, which takes place next month in Arizona. The Dye’s Walk squad consists of Bargersville natives Addison and Tripp Kloboves; Andy Cordell, Piersyn Grothe, Chase Kelso, Aiden Will and Kohen Will of Greenwood; and Sam Maryan of Martinsville.

Franklin defeats Martinsville

Griffin Atkison scored twice to lead Franklin to a 4-1 win over Martinsville on Thursday night. Matt Payne and J.D. Sever also tallied goals for the Grizzly Cubs, while goalkeepers Adam Ott and Riley Shaff combined for eight saves.

Warriors fall to Falcons

Whiteland lost to Class 3A No. 12 Perry Meridian, 8-1. Austin Cooper had the lone goal for the Warriors.

Grizzly Cubs edged by Artesians

Erica Buening’s goal off an Izzy Traut assist gave Franklin a second-half lead before visiting Martinsville rallied to spoil the Grizzly Cubs’ senior night with a 3-2 win on Wednesday. Addie Sever scored on a penalty kick in the first half for Franklin.
