Charles R. “Bobby” Williams, 82 of Greenwood, Indiana passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023. He was born January 3, 1941, in Greenwood, Indiana to the late Charles Lee & Mary Mae (Allen) Williams. Bobby worked for the city of Greenwood for many years retiring in 1995.
Bobby walked every where he could in Greenwood. He could tell you almost everything about the city and often referred to as a historian.
Bobby attended Greenwood Christian Church for many years until it moved to its current location and he no longer could walk there. He started attending First Baptist Church of Greenwood. Bobby loved fishing, working in his flower gardens, and reading his Bible. He was an Indianapolis Colts and IU fan thru and thru! Many years ago, Bobby enjoyed drawing and painting. Bobby is a devout Christian and could talk for hours about his faith to anyone. He was a true witness to others even up to his death.
Bobby was preceded in death by both parents and his first wife, Sylvia E. Williams, brother, Harold E. Williams, sister, Dorothy J. Hawk, brother-in laws, Harry Knight, Lesley (CJ) Hawk, Steve Weller, Sister-in-law, Barbara Williams and nephew, Larry (Steve) Williams and niece, Tammy Knight.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Mary Ann (Knight) Williams; sister, Norma L. Knight; several nieces and nephews, sister-in-laws Kathy Weller, Joann Barnhill, Brother -in-laws, David Knight and Kevin Knight. Bobby will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 4th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel 481 W. Main Street, Greenwood, Indiana. Shan Rutherford to officiate a service at 1:00pm. He will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery.
